Career Opportunity

The Ipswich Multi-Service Centre provides customized 24 hour, 7 days per week respite and support services. Through a restorative and wellness approach the ultimate goal is supporting clients to remain at home.

We are seeking casual experienced staff with flexibility to work varied AM, PM or Night shifts across the 7-day roster including coverage for staff annual and sick leave.

Client Responsibilities

To promote the retention of existing life skills for people both aged over 65 and diagnosed with dementia providing opportunities to enhance these skills through participation in socially valued roles and activities.

The provision of centre-based respite & social support, overnight respite and in-home respite & personal cares.

Assist in the participation of social and artistic activities, small group outings, community functions and local clubs, shopping and medication management.

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant Certificate III qualification within Community or Aged Care is essential
  • Minimum 2-3 Years' paid experience working alongside the elderley within community or aged care
  • Experience in outdoor group & 1:1 leisure activities essential
  • A current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Access to own vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
  • Open Driver's License
  • Excellent communication - both oral & written
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people who have dementia
  • Ambition to enhance an individual's wellbeing
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate
  • Working rights within Australia
