About the role
In this rewarding role you will be responsible for the delivery of services to improve the quality of care being provided to children and young people living in family-based placements. Your daily duties will be varied and challenging, but in essence will include:
- Developing and improving a recruitment plan for fostering service in conjunction with the Service Manager; recruiting, assessing and training specialist foster carers;
- Monitor and assess carer's ongoing suitability to continue as carers within the service; support carers with placements; develop foster carer support plan; identify, address and review carer's education and training needs;
- Accept referrals for children and young people to be matched with carers in accordance with service policy, and through negotiation with the relevant government department;
- Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate individual care plans for young people placed with specialist foster carers.

Well-developed communication skills are part of your expansive repertoire and you liaise comfortably with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
As a master multi-tasker, you are adept at juggling priorities without compromising on quality. You have comprehensive knowledge of legislative and service requirements and readily foster a culture of compliance.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications for the role will consist of:
- A recognised undergraduate degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or a related discipline;
- Practical knowledge of working in residential care or working with young people in a child protection context including delivering case management services;
- Demonstrated experience in providing training to adults, undertaking assessments, and providing a range of supports.
